Regarding Mike Royko`s column about America`s Yellow Ribbon Syndrome: I agree with your sentiments, but I think you ought to address your remarks to your colleagues rather than the public at large. Presidents are just politicians, after all, and no politician ever lasted long by taking a stand against a matter of great public interest.

If the media wouldn`t whip the public into a frenzy over hostages in order to sell papers or improve their ratings, maybe the government would view them in the proper perspective.
