Christians should take pause before they rejoice in the recent ruling allowing a manger scene to be on display in City Hall this Christmas. A careful reading of the ruling indicates not that religion is sweeping the city but that such Christian symbols have become so ”watered-down” by the secular Christmas we observe that they no longer represent a powerful Christian statement. Serious Christians will continue to oppose mixing religion and government.
