Square D Co. named Jerre L. Stead, a vice president of Honeywell Inc., as its president and to the newly created post of chief operating officer. Stead, 43, succeeds as president Dalton L. Knauss, 58, who will remain as chairman and chief executive officer of the northwest suburban Palatine-based maker of electrical equipment.
