1986 season–Was named to the NFC Pro Bowl team for the second consecutive year after a tremendously versatile campaign. He intercepted 6 passes and made 7 sacks. Set up a field goal with an interception, then set up the winning field goal by causing a fumble on the overtime kickoff in the 13-10 win over Philadelphia. Made 4 tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks, 1
interception and 3 deflections in the 23-0 win over Minnesota. Recovered a fumble to set up a field goal in the 12-10 win over Green Bay.
Pro career–Made the Pro Bowl last year in only his first year as a full- time starter. . . . Earned game balls in 1985 vs. Detroit (11-10) and vs. Tampa Bay (10-6). . . . Had 64 tackles last year. . . . Led the club in special team tackles in `84.
Collegiate, personal–Set a Notre Dame record with 256 interception yards. . . . Married (Alicia), two sons (Chase Anthony and Tregg Russell). . . . Plays all brass instruments . . . Toured 38 countries in 34 days with U.S. Ambassador Band in summer of `75.
