1986 season–Started in place of injured Mark Bortz in 1st Minnesota game, his first start since 9-29-85 against the Vikings. . . . Is back-up offensive lineman at all positions except center.

Pro career–In his fifth year. . . . Started the first three games in 1985 before being placed on injured reserve because of surgery on his right knee Oct. 1. . . . Steady performer at right guard, where he was a season-long starter in 1984.

Collegiate, personal–Consensus All-America and Lombardi Trophy semifinalist after four years at Michigan. . . . Entered Michigan at 216 pounds and became an All-America Strength Team member. . . . Earned a business communications degree.
