Farm machinery production plunged to a record low in the United States and Canada last year, the seventh consecutive yearly decline. Stark`s Off-Highway Ledger, a trade publication, reported that Deere & Co., traditionally North America`s largest producer of farm tractors and combines, fell to No. 3 in 1986 as Deere slashed production to reduce huge dealer inventories.
