May I urge you to take an editorial position supporting a ban on the cruel, cruel leghold traps. This has been going on for so many years and should be stopped. It seems to me that in this ”enlightened” age we should be able to figure out a more humane way of killing those animals.
Since people cannot get along without their fur coats, we should at least keep the animals` suffering at a minimum before we kill them. Instead, they are left out there in those traps for who knows how long before the trapper goes to get them. Animals are warm-blooded creatures and feel pain just as much as human beings do.
