I read with interest the letter of the seven physician specialists in infectious disease in regard to the methods of transmitting AIDS. I note that they state, ”Nor are health care workers at significant risk of catching AIDS virus from their patients, private or public.”

This, then, means that they are at some risk. If doctors or other health care patients are at some risk of contracting AIDS from their patients, it then follows that patients are at some risk of contracting AIDS from an infected doctor or health care worker.
