Services for Dr. Robert Simon, 90, who practiced dentistry in the Old Wicker Park neighborhood for more than 60 years, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the chapel at 1300 W. Devon Ave. Dr. Simon, a former resident of the Albany Park area, died Thursday in a Chicago nursing home. Dr. Simon, who retired in 1982, had dental offices at 1200 N. Ashland Ave. and at Damen Avenue and Division Street. For a time he also had downtown offices at 185 N. Wabash Ave. Dr. Simon was known to Wicker Park residents as ”Dr. Bob.”

Before retiring he had treated five generations of some neighborhood families. On his 80th birthday, while still in practice, he received a letter of congratulations from then President Jimmy Carter. Dr. Simon is survived by a sister, Tillie Jasculca.
