William G. Mcgowan, chairman of MCI Communications Corp., is ”making steady progress in his recovery,” after a heart transplant April 25 at Presbyterian-University Hospital of Pittsburgh, said a spokesman. The company previously had said only that Mcgowan had heart surgery. V. Orville Wright, MCI`s retired president, is temporarily replacing Mcgowan.
