The progress mob, as Russell Baker refers to it in his May 3 column, sounds similar to groups that have said atomic weapons are ”good” for mankind; spent billions of dollars on ”modern state of the art” military hardware that doesn`t work; and performed heinous scientific experiments on human beings in Auschwitz.
Scientific progress without ethics is like a child without grandparents.
