Spectra-Physics Inc. of San Jose, Calif., the world`s largest maker of lasers, rejected a $32-a-share takeover offer worth $194.7 million from Ciba- Geigy Ltd. and filed a suit against the Swiss pharmaceuticals giant. Ciba-Geigy already holds 18.8 percent of the company.
