Elliott Abrams` testimony and closing statement put the whole Iran-contra investigation in the right perspective. It is ultimately our security that is at stake, and it is his fear (and mine) that if we don`t assist the contras now against communist takeover, we will have to use extreme force later, with the subsequent loss of many lives.
I think it should be Congress that is interrogated as to why it was so stupid as to refuse contra aid.
