As one of hundreds who was at Kroch`s & Brentano`s South Wabash Avenue bookstore the afternoon of June 5, I must take issue with a claim made by Edward S. Lowenstern in his June 15 Tribune article that briefly stated

”perhaps 20 people waited in a line” for an autographed copy of former President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter`s book.

As a matter of fact, the line stretched through the entire store and spilled out onto Wabash Avenue, finally ending near the corner of Wabash and Madison.
