— 1957–Score 4 in 9th inning of Game 1 off Tex Clevenger to beat Senators 7-6 in Washington, but Roy Sievers homers in 10th off Dixie Howell in Game 2 and Sox lose 10-9. Larry Doby 3-for-5 in each game with 2 homers, triple and game-winning double in opener. Nellie Fox voted AL All-Star second baseman.
