Knight-Ridder Inc. officials told analysts here that their Miami-based media firm should have record results in 1987, with net income in excess of $150 million and revenues of more than $2 billion. Knight-Ridder President James K. Batten expressed confidence that the government would approve a proposed joint operating agreement between Knight-Ridder`s Detroit Free Press and Gannett Co.`s Detroit News. Hearings on that proposed agreement are to begin in Detroit on Aug. 3.
