Age: 37.
Birthplace: Elgin, Ill.
Current home: Los Angeles.
Marital status: Divorced.
Children: Sam, 7, and Lee, whom I named for the character I played on
”Scarecrow and Mrs. King,” 2.
Car: A silver-gray Mercedes-Benz 380 SL with BOXS CAR on the license plate. I`m looking for a ”cowboy Cadillac,” a truck and trailer.
Working on: A CBS movie of the week, ”Angel in Green,” with Susan Dey, and doing promotion for Lauder for Men grooming aids.
The last good movie I saw was: ”The Untouchables.”
The book I`ve been recommending lately is: ”Lonesome Dove,” by Larry McMurtry.
Favorite childhood memory: Riding with my grandfather on a tractor through the cornfields outside of Elgin.
Personal heroes: John Wayne and Errol Flynn.
I wish I could stop: Working for about a year. I`d love to ride my horses and play with my kids.
I`m better than anyone else when it comes to: Having my picture taken with a hundred people before breakfast.
My fantasy is: Riding my horse to the top of the Rocky Mountains and looking down on the world. I`ve done it.
If I could change one thing about myself, I would be: More patient and have better control of my temper. Things always move too slowly for me. I usually say, ”I`ll do it myself,” because I can`t stand waiting for other people.
People who knew me in high school thought I was: A pretty mediocre kid.
I knew I was a grown-up when I: Had my son Sam. I was 30, and I said,
”You`re a man now; you better start acting like it.”
The worst time of my life: When I went to New York at age 21 and the play I was in, a hit in Chicago, lasted one night on Broadway.
My most irrational fears: That my success will go to my head and I`ll turn into a monster. When I go into a store and there are all these people waiting, I want to turn around to see whom they`re waiting for.
