Injured shortstop Shawon Dunston said he is ”driving all my teammates crazy” while waiting for an opportunity to start throwing on the sidelines. Dunston is out until Aug. 15 with a broken ring finger on his right hand.

”I`m supposed to start rehabilitating it Aug. 1,” he said. ”It`s hard for me to keep my head in the games now because I know I can`t play. It`s real frustrating.”

Jody Davis has slipped to .244. He was hitting .304 on May 22. ”The last three or four games, I`ve felt a lot better,” he said. ”For a while, I was totally lost. I`m starting to find it.”

Davis has been playing with a cracked toe the past couple of weeks.

”I`ve got it taped up pretty good. It`s a little sore but doesn`t really bother me. Not being so fast, I guess it`s something I don`t have to worry about. It doesn`t slow me up that much.”

Brian Dayett, who was 2-for-4 Thursday night against the Giants lefty Dave Dravecky, is 27-for-59 (.458) with four homers and 13 RBIs against left-handed pitching.

Since moving to the bullpen June 21, Scott Sanderson has appeared in four games and has a 1-0 record, 2.53 ERA and two saves.

Bobby Dernier suffered a moderate groin strain in Thursday`s game. His status is day-to-day.
