I concur with columnist Steve Daley that those of us who have been watching the Iran-contra hearings on Channel 11 have been treated to the unusual experience of straightforward, informed, low-key, enlightening reporting from the three women on PBS–Judy Woodruff, Cokie Roberts and Elizabeth Drew.

Anyone watching these proceedings on any other channel, dominated by the

”jut-jawed, million-dollar-a-year men,” of whom I have become extremely tired, denied themselves one of the best analyses of the real meaning of these hearings, which are a display of a peculiar phenomenon of a working democracy.
