Why must the people of Chicago tolerate the horrible pollution that comes out of the CTA buses? Cars are required to have antipollution control devices –why not buses?

At least in the past, the exhaust fumes used to come out the top of the bus, which was bad enough, but now they`ve put them on the bottom, so the black fumes blow out into people`s faces as they walk down the street or wait at the corner for a stoplight.

Every time I walk down the street, especially in the Loop, I feel as if my life is being shortened by breathing such acrid, polluted air.
