Rick Sutcliffe rejoined the Cubs Monday night after having his right index finger examined in Chicago. ”Sutcliffe was examined by Dr. (Jacob)

Suker this morning, and he has what appears to be some type of foreign object imbedded into his finger,” said trainer John Fierro. ”It`s right on the corner of his right index finger. There has a callous or some kind of skin buildup around it. We`re going to shave it down a little bit so he can throw on Wednesday, and on Thursday, he`ll go back in and see Dr. Suker and be re-evaluated and see if they want to snip a little bit. All of this adds up to him probably not missing a start.”
