The circus is coming to Oak Lawn. And Villa Park. And Waukegan, Niles, Homewood, Orland Park, Naperville and Skokie, too. In a four-week run that begins Tuesday, Circus Vargas–which bills itself as the world`s largest traveling tented circus–will be putting on 54 shows in those eight suburbs. Among the things you`ll see under the football-field-sized tent that seats more than 5,000 people: 400-plus performers, 20 acts, 15 tigers, 5 lions, 14 elephants, 24 horses–and assorted camels, clowns, jugglers and a ”suicide” high-wire act. Formed 17 years ago, Circus Vargas visits 150 cities each year in its 330 days of touring.
