SUITS ATTACK PHILIPS DEAL

Eight shareholder suits seeking to block N.V. Philips from completing its $50-a-share tender offer for the 42 percent of North American Philips Corp. it doesn`t already own were filed in Delaware State Chancery Court. North American said it believes the suits ”do not state a legitimate cause of action.”
