This is to express my deep concern regarding the confirmation of Judge Robert Bork to fill the vacancy that exists on the Supreme Court.
From all that I can read, it seems that Mr. Bork is superbly qualified for the position.
The Supreme Court has been dominated by liberals for some 50 years. Decisions by this court have had a decidedly detrimental effect on our national well-being, resulting in curbing police action while coddling vicious criminals, requiring forced busing across cities that neither blacks nor whites wanted, inventing ”rights” for mothers to dispose of their unborn children as if they were trash, overturning the convictions of pornography peddlers and silencing teachers and students alike in matters pertaining to prayer, the Bible and creationism.
Today, the court is about evenly divided between conservatives and liberals. It is only logical that our conservative President, who was elected and re-elected by vast majorities, would nominate a person who shared his conservative views.
Should a liberal be nominated and confirmed, it would tilt the court once again to the left. Our beloved nation has endured too much of that influence already.
Should Robert Bork be confirmed, on the other hand, the court would become, for the first time in many years, a champion of traditional values and constitutionalism. We believe this would be a boon for the good of America.
