In endorsing Judge Bork`s nomination to the Supreme Court, has The Tribune considered his legal philosophy? For example, though Bork opposes Roe vs. Wade and appears to support a pro-life position, is he for or against abortion?

Neither, is the answer. He characterizes this decision as ”judicial usurpation of state legislative authority.” Thus, he would allow states to recriminalize abortion. Or, to permit abortions.

But what if a state were to impose abortion, say, on pregnant females who are unwed and poor? Would he not also invoke ”judicial usurpation” and stand aside? Bork is a judicial radical clothed in conservative ideology.
