It appears likely that Richard Dotson will miss his next start. He said his right shoulder was still sore after he played catch before Friday`s game. He had to be taken out of Wednesday`s game in Minnesota when he experienced some discomfort in the muscle area just below the shoulder. ”He definitely irritated some muscle,” said trainer Herm Schneider. ”It hasn`t been pinpointed yet.”

Dotson said he`s not in any pain, except when he throws. ”It`s not like a toothache that`s with me all the time. It didn`t feel too good today.”

Kenny Williams hasn`t been in the league long, but he already has a firm dislike of domed stadiums: ”Baseball was not meant to be played in a garage,” he said.

The Sox have not been shut out since June 22, when Seattle`s Mike Moore blanked them.
