The ”no embarrassment” condom, packaged in pleasing muted tones of blue, beige and brown, is being introduced by VLI Corp. of Irvine, Calif. Said a VLI official: ”Showy packaging tends to reinforce the back-seat-of-a Chevrolet-image.” VLI`s package has the word ”Today” in large lettering, with the word ”condom” in smaller lettering on packages that are blue with beige stripes or brown with beige stripes. Until now, VLI was best known for its Today contraceptive sponge, marketed to women in a box with a distinctive pink orchid.
