I take issue with Bob Greene when he wrote, ”Columns written on the handicapped find few readers-since it is a topic people as a whole are not interested in.”

If this were the case, it would be a sad commentary on the American public indeed.

I ran a campaign in 1969 against President Nixon`s medical research cutbacks. We collected hundreds of thousands of signatures and took those to Washington to testify. The cutbacks were rescinded.
