Mass for Thomas E. Coughlan, 79, a retired attorney and financial consultant, will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 10234 S. Washtenaw Ave. Mr. Coughlan, of the Southwest Side, died Friday in Little Company of Mary Hospital, Evergreen Park. Mr. Coughlan had been employed by Paul D. Speer & Associates, municipal finance consultants in Chicago, for more than 35 years. He was a 1933 graduate of the law school at the University of Notre Dame, where he played football under the legendary Knute Rockne. He was an Army lieutenant during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Helen; 4 sons, ”T.J.” Tom, Dick, Bill and Terry; a brother, a sister; and 12 grandchildren.
