Australian tennis star Pat Cash got a rude awakening Tuesday. From a ghost. He says.
Cash, in Sydney for the Australian Indoor Championships, said he was awakened at his hotel by ”shuffling sounds and footsteps.” He said he cowered under the sheets for almost 45 minutes before he dashed down the hall in his pajamas to the room of his coach, Ian Barclay.
”I don`t believe in those sorts of things,” said Cash, who regained his composure enough to bear Kelly Evernden 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) later Tuesday. ”It must have been a ghost. There`s no other explanation. I knew I wasn`t hallucinating, no drugs nor drink or anything like that.
”All of a sudden I heard some shuffling noises and then some footsteps. I sat up startled but nothing was there. Just when I settled back to my pillow it happened again.”
