Benjamin Franklin expressed it so succinctly in ”Poor Richard`s Almanac” that he seems to have been anticipating Senators Biden, Kennedy and others with the following:

”Who steals my purse steals trash.

`tis something, nothing,

`twas mine, `tis his.

But he who filches from me my good name,

robs that which not enriches him,

and leaves me poor indeed.”

I trust that Robert Bork`s good name will endure long after those others are forgotten.
