Control Data Corp. introduced two lower-cost supercomputers it said will
”radically alter” the supercomputer environment. One machine, the ETA-10 model P, will sell for $995,000 in a complete configuration, and the more powerful ETA-10 model Q is priced at $1.2 million. Both are air-cooled, which allows them to operate in an office environment.
