Pulitzer Publishing Co. appointed Michael J. Kelley publisher of its Economist and Daily Calumet newspapers in the Chicago area, effective Nov. 2. Kelley, 45, has been an executive assistant at the Central States Health and Welfare and Pension Funds in Chicago. He formerly was a political writer for the Kansas City Star and Times newspapers.
