I find it admirable that unionized faculty members at five state universities have decided on a pay freeze to avoid layoffs.

They realize that there is no money available for increases at the present time and their main concern is ”quality university education.”

These college professors deserve more money as their salaries are the lowest among the 12 state universities in Illinois. I applaud their action and sincerely hope that funds for an increase will be available for them in the near future.
