Now that I am a senior citizen, I resent seeing that whenever someone of my age is mentioned in the press, his age is preceded by the word ”elderly.” There are many of us new senior citizens out here. I do not feel elderly and neither does most of my generation.
I propose that the word ”elderly” be reserved for those past 80. If I should be fortunate enough to reach that age, I hope that I will have enough energy to complain again.
