Mass for Mary Base, 77, retired owner of Duchess Bridal & Formals, with shops in Blue Island and Chicago, will be said at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2339 W. York St., Blue Island. She died Wednesday in St. Francis Hospital, Blue Island. Mrs. Base, of Blue Island, owned and operated the shops for more than 40 years before retiring. Survivors include 2 sons, Gene and James; 2 daughters, Normajeanne Fron and Adrienne Goulding; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
