Parks did not live by hosting Miss America alone. His main job was as a game show host. From 1948 to 1960, he was the host of 10 game or quiz shows, from ”Break the Bank” (1948-57) to Masquerade Party (1959-60). The best known was ”Stop the Music,” which had two separate runs, 1949-52, 1954-56. Since 1960, Parks has added two more game shows and a variety show to his hosting credits.

There were 225 half-hour episodes plus the two-hour finale of the CBS series seen 1972-83. The shows were not all released in syndication for local station reruns at the same time, but in batches. You may have forgotten some shows you haven`t seen for many years.

Georg Stanford Brown, Michael Ontkean, Sam Melville, Kate Jackson and Gerald O`Loughlin were the original stars on the ABC series seen 1972-76. Bruce Fairbarn replaced Ontkean in 1974.
