You hear so much about hospitals and nursing homes lately.
My husband is a World War II veteran and now has Alzheimer`s Disease. He is in the extended-care unit on the second floor at Hines Hospital. He can`t talk and is completely dependent on the nurses.
I want everyone out there to know what wonderful care he is receiving. He doesn`t know anything about this season of Christmas, but I found one of the nurses feeding him a Christmas cookie with loving care.
Most people don`t know the emotions care-givers feel when they need and want a rest but still think they are abandoning their loved ones. With this kind of help, it makes things so much easier.
