Your Dec. 23 editorial ”Please, a moratorium on memorials” is timely and perceptive.
With all due respect to your former mayor, I think Chicagoans can well afford to postpone these proposed changes for several years to acquire a more balanced assessment of Harold Washington`s legacy.
I can`t imagine changing the name of Cook County Hospital; nor can I give the mayor any credit for the long-delayed, still-pending public library.
