What has happened to Gary Dotson is very sad. From some outward appearances, he seems like a nice enough guy, but admittedly with some gigantic problems. More and more people could fall into that category these days.
There must be some way of getting him the help he needs so desperately. Jailing him any further would not only be lacking in any kind of compassion but would be a clear illustration of the failure of our prison system.
