Mass for Gene Smith Sr., 80, a Chicago Roman Catholic Archdiocese employee for 47 years, will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Quigley South Seminary, 7740 S. Western Ave. Mr. Smith, of the Wrightwood area, died Monday in Christ Hospital, Oak Lawn. Mr. Smith, known as ”Mr. Quigley,” had worked at the seminary as a maintenance man for 26 years. He also had been employed at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 72d Street and Dorchester Avenue, for 21 years. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Iberle; a son, Gene F. Jr.; and a sister.
