I want to commend Clarence Page on his fine column on Joseph Clark. His statement that ”along with love, young people need limits” and that ”they test limits of authority every day” is certainly one of the truest statements made. Also his statement about his friend ”Pops” reminds me of stories told so many times by friends and acquaintances about someone in their past who

”was tough, but really fair” and that later in life they really appreciated that person for making them follow the rules.

I have been a secretary in a Michigan high school for the past 18 years and I agree 100 percent with the idea that you don`t let students talk and act any way they want to. There are school rules and society rules, and I believe all students, regardless of who they are, should be made to abide by them.
