AEC Inc., Elk Grove Village, a maker of equipment for the plastics industry, agreed to be taken over by a subsidiary of Sterling Inc. of Milwaukee for $15 a share in cash, or about $26.7 million. The deal needs shareholder approval, but a trust owning one-third of AEC`s shares and certain other holders have already agreed to sell their holdings to Sterling, AEC said.
