Viskase, a unit of Envirodyne Industries Inc., said it will seek a special exemption from an ozone emissions control rule adopted by the Illinois Pollution Control Board. The company repeated a threat to close its Bedford Park plant and lay off 400 workers if it isn`t exempted from the rule, which goes into effect April 1, 1989.
