Needless to say, we were disheartened by the editorial cartoon you ran on Feb. 23 by MacNelly (depicting a woman labeled ”politics” sitting on presidential candidate Pat Robertson`s lap). It was pointless, and whatever statement you wished to make, other than defame Pat Robertson`s character, was lost on us.
It appears that far from welcoming everyone into the political process, liberal types can hope to defeat their opposition only by character assassination-if just in cartoon form. The pen, in fact, may be mightier than the sword when in pursuit of the truth.
A picture may be worth a thousand words, but in this case it merits only one: garbage!
