Lionel Trains Inc. has a new lure for model railroad buffs, a tiny video camera that almost lets them feel like part of their prized layouts. Lionel hopes the high-tech, miniaturized ”Railscope” video camera, which is small enough to mount in a locomotive for an engineer`s eye view, will be its ticket to higher sales. ”It`s just like getting small and becoming part of that layout,” said a Lionel spokesman.
The picture can be displayed on a standard television or even larger screen. The ”Railscope” will sell for about $300.
