Women with the potential for a successful business who lack sufficient start-up money can get the boost they need from a new venture capital program initiated by the National Association for Female Executives, currently celebrating its 15th anniversary.

Applicants have until April 1 to submit business plans to the association, which will award amounts ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 to female entrepreneurs, says George Tunick, publisher of the association`s membership magazine.

Applicants will be judged on the merit of their business idea and their experience, Tunick says. Ascreening committee will evaluate the proposals, which then will be forwarded to a final award committee of successful female entrepreneurs and other executives.

The association will become a silent partner in businesses it funds. Resulting profits will be reinvested in the venture capital program to launch other female-owned businesses, Tunick says.

Recipients will be announced early in July, Tunick says.

For information contact the association at 1041 Third Ave., New York, N.Y. 10021, or 212-371-0740.
