As a person who has witnessed the local chaos of road construction in my suburban town, I would like to commend the city for its publicity about the Dan Ryan.
We all know that this will be a great deal of work on both ends that will extend over a long period of time. It will cause many difficulties and alterations in everyone`s schedules. But the radio and newspaper publicity that was given about the reconstruction, and suggestions of rerouting that began a few months ago, changed the phrase ”ignorance is bliss.” Knowledge of the reconstruction well in advance allowed people to accommodate themselves to the situation.
