They`ve worked together 22 years-he as one of Chicago`s top food photographers and she as his sales rep-but they`ve carried togetherness a bit too far.
Photographer William Sladcik slipped in his studio on the night of Feb. 8 and tore multiple ligaments and tendons in his right knee. The next morning, 2,000 miles away on a ski slope in Jackson Hole, Wyo., his vacationing sales rep, Elena Kezelis, fell on her run down the mountain, breaking the femur and tearing a ligament in the right leg.
They both went into surgery at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 9, he in Chicago and she in Jackson Hole. They are both back at work now, hobbling around. They are both scheduled for recovery in six weeks.
”They probably even get their menstrual periods at the same time,”
quipped Elena`s husband. No comment from Sladcik.
