The April 9 Tribune reported that just before a Chicago man stabbed his building manager and two others to death with his new hunting knife, he had gone to two stores attempting to buy a firearm. If he had in fact obtained a handgun and used it to kill the three, the antigun groups would have surely blamed the NRA and howled for even more ”gun control.”
This incident once more proves that guns and knives don`t kill people, only people kill people. The real tragedy in Chicago is that law-abiding business people and citizens, such as the murdered building manager, lost in 1982 their freedom of choice to keep a handgun on their premises for self-defense.
